My Uncle Chet and I playing together in our family holiday tournament, December 2005. It brought back a lot of nice memories, since I hadn't played with him in over twenty-five years. The venue was the tricky executive course at Meriwether in Hillsboro, Oregon. We had a nice day in spite of the fact that the course was almost under water. But that's the way us Oregonian's are - we play in all kinds of weather. Tiger and the boys would have cancelled the whole day and retreated to their free buffet lunches in the clubhouse. We slogged through, and just didn't make enough putts to win the four-team, three-man scramble that day. Uncle Chet hit some nice shots, including a nice 6-foot birdie putt after I hit the wedge tee shot shot on #2. We still had fun, and since the champion always buys dinner, we had our own buffet at the Taco Bell afterwards. Notice my cousin's fancy camera work, as he caught me picking up the ball with my lob wedge and giving it back to Uncle Chet. That's pretty cool. I'm ready for a Nike commercial!
